Quincy Riverfront Development Corporation RFQ

The Quincy Riverfront Development Corporation is seeking architectural and engineering services for the design and engineering of a new interactive splash pad as part of its riverfront revitalization efforts. The proposed splash pad will be located adjacent to the existing water treatment plant pump, replacing the defunct sludge pump, and will serve as a central feature within a planned play area. The design will incorporate engaging water features and interactive elements that encourage play, creativity, and community interaction. This project aims to transform an underused site into a vibrant recreational destination that enhances the riverfront experience while promoting sustainability, accessibility, and family-friendly enjoyment for residents and visitors alike. The purpose of this Request for Qualifications is to receive information and qualifications from architectural/engineering firms or teams interested in working on the Project.

Timeline

The following list includes key dates pertaining to the RFQ process. Each of the dates referenced below may be extended at the sole discretion of the Great River Economic Development Foundation or the Quincy Riverfront Development Corporation.

  • RFQ Issued – January 20, 2026
  • Deadline for Responses to RFQ – February 17, 2026 at 3 p.m.
  • Next Steps will be communicated to applicants following the closing of RFQs

The Proposal must be received by 3:00 p.m. on February 17, 2026. Proposals must be sealed in an envelope or box clearly labeled “Quincy Riverfront Development Corporation Splash Pad RFQ”. Proposals arriving late will be returned unopened. Proposals can be delivered to: The Great River Economic Development Foundation at 501 Hampshire Street, Quincy, IL 62301 or submitted electronic proposals to gredf@gredf.org.
